Mobility grants for students

Each year, Norteas receives financial support to carry out its activities from Nordplus. As a degree student within Norteas, you can apply for a Nordplus grant to support mobility for studies or for going on an international placement in a relevant work environment in any of the Nordic / Baltic countries and independent regions. PhD students are not eligible for Nordplus student mobility grants. Mobility grants are awarded for full-time studies or work placements abroad, and the duration can be from a minimum of one week (five working days) to a maximum of two months. If you wish to carry out longer student mobility, we advise you to apply for support through the Erasmus+ programme. Please consult the International Relations department at your home institution for further information about how to apply for a Nordplus mobility grant.

Nordplus supports the following types of mobility for students:

Express mobility / short-term studies

Express mobility: 1-3 weeks (under one month), minimum duration: 5 days
Short-term mobility: 1-2 months

Express mobility is intended to broaden students' perspectives through short-term study exchanges. This mobility scheme is also intended to encourage institutions to invite students from partner institutions to participate in their ordinary courses and thus promote internationalisation at home.

To promote this, Norteas offers open Nordic-Baltic Express courses in addition to the Nordic Common Studies week, which is an annual event.

WORK Placement during or after your studies

Duration: 1-7 weeks

As a Norteas student, you can apply for a Nordplus grant to support a work placement in any Nordic and Baltic countries, including the autonomous regions of Åland, the Faroe Islands, and Greenland. The placement can take place during your studies or up until one year after graduation. A placement during your studies must be fully recognised as part of your degree at your home institution. This rule does not apply for recent graduate placements, but in this case, all supporting documents except the certificate need to be signed before graduation. The hosting institution can be a production venue, a company, a festival, or similar. It is a requirement that you have a mentor during the placement period who will monitor your learning process and sign a placement form before the placement and a certificate after.

Long term mobility

Studies or training abroad lasting longer than two months.

The Norteas network recommends that Erasmus+ funding is used when possible in case studies abroad exceed three months.
